In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Subhan Allah, Alhamdulillah, I thank Allah SWT for guiding me to Islam and for showing me the beauty and wisdom of hijab. Subhan Allah, I LOVE my hijab. Articles such as these, claiming that hijab is a form of oppression for the Muslim woman, or claiming that the veil has nothing to do with religion, are simply without merit for the one who holds dear to them a belief in Allah SWT and Islam . Although writings like the article mentioned above make us angry for the sake of Allah SWT because they speak against Islam and the Messenger SAW, they do nothing to change our belief. These kinds of articles only serve to flame the fires of racism and stereotypes. Those who view the wearing of hijab as chauvinistic and backwards will more than likely continue to do so not because they feel Muslim women are oppressed and need to gain their freedom, but because they hate Islam and the truth that comes with it. And for those who love the hijab, they will insha’allah continue to do so because they love Allah SWT, His Last Messenger Muhammad SAW, and the beauty, truth, and justice that Islam brings to this fleeting life.
“How much would those who disbelieved wish that they had been Muslims.” – Holy Qur’an, Surah Al-Hijr, verse 2.
