In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

What Happened When a Professor Got His Students to Participate in His ‘Veil for a Day’ Project | | AlterNet.

Subhan Allah,  Alhamdulillah, I thank Allah SWT for guiding me to Islam and for showing me the beauty and wisdom of hijab.  Subhan Allah, I LOVE my hijab.  Articles such as these, claiming that hijab is a form of oppression for the Muslim woman, or claiming that the veil has nothing to do with religion,  are simply without merit for the one who holds dear to them a belief in Allah SWT and Islam .  Although writings like the article mentioned above make us angry for the sake of Allah SWT because they speak against Islam and the Messenger SAW, they do nothing to change our belief.  These kinds of articles only serve to flame the fires of racism and stereotypes.  Those who view the wearing of hijab as chauvinistic and backwards will more than likely continue to do so not because they feel Muslim women are oppressed and need to gain their freedom, but because they hate Islam and the truth that comes with it.  And for those who love the hijab, they will insha’allah continue to do so because they love Allah SWT, His Last Messenger Muhammad SAW, and the beauty, truth, and justice that Islam brings to this fleeting life.

“How much would those who disbelieved wish that they had been Muslims.” Holy Qur’an, Surah Al-Hijr, verse 2.

Assalaamu Alaykum,

Alhamdulillah, I have a recently listened to a beautiful lecture on wearing hijab given by Mohammad Elshinawy, entitled To Veil or Not to Veil. Masha’allah, it is a beautiful reminder of our duty as believing women to veil our bodies and conduct ourselves in a modest way that is pleasing to Allah SWT.  This lecture also reminds our brothers as well to conduct themselves with modesty, and to encourage the women of our ummah to guard what Allah SWT has ordered us to guard.  I highly recommend listening to this lecture insha’allah, even if you are a Muslimah that wears the Hijab already.

You can download and listen to this lecture from Kalamullah.com.

Hijab Girl.com

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Assalaamu Alaykum,

Alhamdulillah, I have found a wonderful online hijab store, Hijab Girl.com, for all the modest Muslimahs out there in the States.  They have a wide selection of hijabs, as well as other items such as sleeve guards, niqabs, and hijab pins.  Masha’allah their prices are very reasonable, and they have standard, flat-rate shipping.
